UHRP Marks 77 Years Since CCP Takeover of East Turkistan, Urges Global Action

The Uyghur Human Rights Project marked 77 years since the Chinese Communist Party proclaimed the "Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region" on October 1, 1955, calling it the consolidation of occupation rather than genuine autonomy. Executive Director Omer Kanat urged governments to reject Beijing's propaganda and strengthen forced labor import bans and sanctions.
